How to file and pay logging tax

You can file and pay logging tax:

Online using eTaxBC

You can log on to eTaxBC to file your return and pay. If you don't have an account you can:

By mail or courier

You can send your completed return and payment to:

Payments are accepted by cheque, bank draft or money order made payable to the Minister of Finance, or using banking services.

Do not send cash.

Remember to write your account number on your payment so your account can be easily identified when your payment is processed.

Your tax return and payment are considered on time if they are sent by:

  • Mail and the envelope is postmarked by Canada Post on or before the due date. A business postage meter mark is not sufficient.
  • Courier and it’s received by the ministry by the close of business at 4:30pm on the due date.

At a government office

You can submit your completed return and payment at one of the following locations:

  • Service BC Centre
    Payments by cash, debit, cheque, bank draft or money order made payable to the Minister of Finance are accepted. See the Service BC website for locations and hours of operation.

  • 1802 Douglas Street in Victoria (drop box only)
    Payments by cheque, bank draft or money order made payable to the Minister of Finance are accepted. Cash, debit and credit card payments aren't accepted.

Due date

Your tax return and payment must be received or postmarked on or before the due date.

If the due date falls on a weekend or a B.C. statutory holiday, your return and payment are due on the next business day.

If you don't file and pay your taxes by the due date, your account will become overdue.

Voluntary disclosure

If you make a voluntary disclosure that you owe tax, and meet certain conditions, the penalties for late or incomplete tax payments, or for not filing a return, may be waived.
