Reference prices for natural gas tax credit
Last updated on September 15, 2026The reference price is the fair market price of natural gas at the reference point as determined by regulation.
The reference price is a per gigajoule price and is determined monthly by the Ministry of Energy and Climate Solutions.
Monthly reference prices will be pre-populated into your monthly cost of gas calculations in the online natural gas tax credit application. The table below is updated quarterly with reference prices for planning purposes.
