Notice to moose hunters:

Rationale:
Currently, there is no open season for moose hunting on Shaman Island. Shaman Island is a sacred and culturally important site to Teslin Tlingit Council. Burial sites and all other heritage sites and resources are protected under First Nation and Provincial/Territorial laws.
The proposal is to change this prohibition from a no open season for moose (Hunting Regulation) to a full no hunting and shooting area (Closed Area Regulation).
