Proposed regulation:

Adjust the moose LEH boundary between 7-38A and 7-38B so it follows the park boundary instead of the Omineca River. Consult map (PDF, 317KB).

Rationale:

During engagement with First Nations in 2024, it was agreed that the moose LEH boundary between Wildlife MUs 7-38A and 7-38B would follow the park boundary; however, the boundary was mistakenly set along the Omineca River. Adjusting the boundary to follow the park boundary would correct this administrative error and align the regulation with what was agreed to during engagement.

The current boundary along the Omineca River may be concentrating hunter activity within a relatively narrow corridor that is important to both recreational hunters and Indigenous land users. This concentration of activity has the potential to create conflicts and localized pressure on wildlife. Aligning the boundary to the park edge could help spread hunting effort more evenly across the landscape, reducing pressure in high‑use areas and supporting a more balanced experience for all land users.
