The discharge of a firearm using a single projectile within 400 m (1/4 mile) on either side of the road allowance is prohibited in the following areas. Use of firearms using shot permitted:
- West Fraser Road (MU 5-13) - south from the City of Quesnel limits to the intersection of this road and Grouse Road (located just northwest of Rudy Johnson Bridge), see Map E19
- West Fraser Road (MU 5-14) - see description under MU 5-13. See Map E19
Proposed regulation:
Extend current 400 m no shooting area along West Fraser Road and implement new no shooting buffer zone on Buckskin Road.

- West Fraser Road (MU 5-13) - south from the City of Quesnel limits to the northern boundary and entry point of the Fraser River Breaks Provincial park on Meldrum Creek Road (52.22244, -122.28515)
- Soda creek road and Williams Lake Cutoff road intersection along Buckskin Road (Commencement point 52.25153, -122.24537) joining with the current no shooting zone on West Fraser FSR

Rationale:
The Conservation Officer Service (COS) has frequently raised concerns regarding hunters recurrently shooting across the Fraser River and across switchbacks on the Buckskin Road, endangering passing motorists and private landowners in area. This is a well travelled road which connects many communities on the West Fraser Road to the East side of the Fraser. A high level of noncompliance has also been observed and documented in this area such as night hunting and discharging of firearms from the roadway near residences.
The addition of a no shooting area buffer would aid in COS ability to conduct enforcement in the area and ensure a safe corridor for private landowners and public.
