The Mine Audits Unit (the Audit Unit) plays a key role in supporting the continuous improvement of mining regulation and oversight in British Columbia.

Led by the Chief Auditor, the Audit Unit is a dedicated team in the Ministry of Mining and Critical Minerals (the Ministry). The team evaluates and makes public recommendations to government regarding the effectiveness of the Ministry’s regulatory requirements, policies, practices and actions for the mining sector.

Our website is intended to provide interested parties in B.C., across Canada and around the world with access to information about the role and work of the Audit Unit.
