BCAB #1111 - Mezzanines - Visual Obstructions

Re: Mezzanines - Visual Obstructions
With reference to your letter of November 10, 1989, regarding glazing to a mezzanine.
We agree with your contention that Clause 184.108.40.206.(3)(b) of the B.C. Building Code permits the use of clear glass in openings within a mezzanine. We take the words ""visually open"" to mean precisely what they suggest, and clear glass does not constitute a visual obstruction.
