With reference to your letter of April 16, 1989 regarding acceptance of stairs within a dwelling unit.

From the information supplied, your design contravenes the B.C. Building Code requirements for winders, for tapered treads, and also Sentence 3.3.1.15.(3) for the front edge of treads. Under the circumstances it is not possible for us to accept the design, either for compliance with the Code, or as an equivalent.
