Re: "Enerwool" Insulation, Article 9.26.4.4.
With reference to your letter of May 27, 1988, regarding acceptance of "Enerwool" mineral wool insulation.
Article 9.26.4.4. restricts loose-fill material to horizontal application, to avoid problems with products which tend to flow. From the information provided we are satisfied that "Enerwool" has sufficient resistance to flow to permit installation at shallow slopes.
Under the circumstances we consider this material to be acceptable under the British Columbia Building Code. For uniformity we accept the provisions of the CMHC Report #09395, dated April 13, 1988, which contains a slope restriction of up to and including 2 in 12.
