Increased compensation and higher Early Payments (Interims)

AgriStability participants will receive more coverage for losses in 2024. Through the 2024 BC AgriStability Enhancement Program, the Government of British Columbia is providing greater coverage to help farmers better manage income losses due to extreme weather, marketing challenges or natural disasters experienced in 2024.

2024 BC Enhancement Program Breakdown

For the 2024 Program year, the BC Government has:

Increased the compensation rate by 10%: increasing AgriStability's 80% compensation rate to 90% on income declines greater than 30%
Increased AgriStability’s existing $3M dollar payment limit to $6.2M dollars
With agreement from Canada, increased Early Payments in 2024 from 50% to 75% for requests made by the March 31, 2025 deadline

Additionally, through Late Participation 2024, clients have until April 30, 2025 to enrol in AgriStability's 2024 program year.

Who benefits from the 2024 BC AgriStability Enhancement Program?

All clients enrolled in AgriStability’s 2024 program year will benefit from the increased compensation rate and increased compensation limit. If you are not enrolled in AgriStability for the 2024 program year it’s not too late! Late Participation 2024 ensures that clients have until April 30, 2025 to enrol. To participate, complete and submit the Late Participation form (PDF, 425KB) by the April 30, 2025 deadline.

After we receive your Late Participation form, our team will contact you to:

gather more information about your operation, including productive capacity
collect the $300 Late Participation fee
discuss the option for an AgriStability interim payment
