This page has information about PharmaCare's Plan B Geographic Modifier (GeoMod) program. The GeoMod program pays pharmacies a monthly fee for serving eligible long-term care (LTC) beds in B.C.
The GeoMod program supports pharmacies working with LTC facilities in B.C. Under the GeoMod program, PharmaCare pays pharmacies a $15 monthly fee per bed for eligible LTC beds located in areas of lower population density in B.C. The GeoMod fee supplements the $65 monthly PharmaCare Plan B capitation fee.
To be eligible for the GeoMod fee, LTC beds must be in a facility registered for PharmaCare Plan B, in an area defined as remote, rural, rural hub, small urban or medium urban, according to the Community Health Service Areas (CHSAs) classification.
The locations of the facilities currently served by Plan B pharmacies are in the list below. If your pharmacy will be serving a facility that you think may be eligible for the GeoMod fee, but does not appear on the list below, you can email Health Insurance BC (HIBC) at InformationSupport@hibc.gov.bc.ca to confirm eligibility.
