Accessing the HDP

All applicants will be asked to complete a Data Access Request (DAR) form as part of their request to access data from the HDP. Requesting data from the HDP will follow a new streamlined request, approval and access process. The DAR form will indicate which supporting documentation is required to be included with your request.

Please review the application steps below, depending on your affiliation.

Please follow the steps below if you are:

  • An employee of, or affiliated to, an organization and your project type is for your organization as deemed by your organization’s designate
  • An employee of, or affiliated to, an organization and your project type is for your organization but includes a research component, as deemed by your organization’s designate.

Step 1:  Apply to your organization’s designate for review to determine if your project is deemed a priority.  Click here to see the list of organizational designates, by health authority.

Step 2: When your project has been prioritized by your organization’s designate, complete the HDP Data Access Request (DAR) form and you will be contacted by the HDP Front Counter with your next steps.

Step 3: Obtain approval from the HDP Front Counter and proceed to training.

Please follow the steps below if you are:

  • A researcher affiliated with a research institute and you or your project is not affiliated with an organization (health authority).
  • A researcher affiliated with a research institute and to an organization and your project is research based, as deemed by your organization’s designate.

All supporting documentation required to be included as part of your request has not changed (e.g. Valid Ethics Certificates, funding notifications, organizational approvals etc.).   Please go to PopData website for instructions on submitting your Data Access Request (DAR) form for the HDP.
