Mandate letter instructions for crown corporations

The B.C. government issues an annual mandate letter to each Crown corporation to communicate that Crown's annual strategic direction and priorities.

Writing & submission

Each summer, the Crown Agencies and Board Resourcing Office (CABRO) provides ministries responsible for a Crown corporation with a mandate letter template through an internal process.

Ministries work with their Crown corporations to develop and prepare the mandate letters for Cabinet approval in the fall. During this process, CABRO reviews and provides feedback on the letters before they are submitted to Cabinet.
