A consent resolution agreement is one way to resolve a discipline matter. Consent resolution is when the Commissioner and the teacher agree on appropriate consequences. It is also a way to avoid a public hearing. The agreement process is voluntary.

There are two people who can propose an agreement:
- The Commissioner for Teacher Regulation
- The teacher involved in the discipline matter
What is a consent resolution agreement?
A consent resolution agreement is a written document. The document includes:
- The facts that the Commissioner and the teacher agree to
- The teacher stating that their behavoiur, set out in the facts, was a breach of the professional standards
- The consequences for the teacher
What are the possible outcomes of a consent resolution agreement?
A teacher who has breached the professional standards may:
- Be reprimanded
- Have limits or conditions placed on their teaching certificate
- Have their teaching certificate suspended or cancelled
