Consent Resolution Agreement

A consent resolution agreement is one way to resolve a discipline matter. Consent resolution is when the Commissioner and the teacher agree on appropriate consequences. It is also a way to avoid a hearing that is open to the public. The agreement process is voluntary.

Who can propose a consent resolution agreement?

There are two people who can propose an agreement:

  • The Commissioner for Teacher Regulation
  • The certificate holder (teacher) involved in the discipline matter

What is a consent resolution agreement?

A consent resolution agreement is a written document. The document includes:

  • Information on what the Commissioner and the certificate holder agreed
  • Any consequences for the certificate holder
  • Any effect on the person's teaching certificate

There are different ways that people can learn about the outcome of an agreement:
