Infrastructure planning grant program

Municipalities and regional districts can apply for grants that support projects related to the development of sustainable community infrastructure through the Infrastructure Planning Grant Program. The program is open for applications year-round with regular processing deadlines.

Project eligibility

Grants of up to $10,000 are available to help local governments develop or improve long-term comprehensive plans including, and not limited to:

• Asset management plans
• Integrated stormwater management plans
• Water master plans
• Liquid waste management plans

Grants can be used for a range of activities related to assessing the technical, environmental and/or economic feasibility of local government infrastructure projects.

How to apply

Applications and claims for the infrastructure planning grant must be completed and submitted online using the Local Government Information System (LGIS). After getting access to the LGIS system, please visit the LGIS Learning Centre for step-by-step instructions to walk you through completing the forms.

2. Ensure you have a business BCeID
3. Complete the LGIS online application
4. Complete and upload the Application Supplementary Form
5. Upload supporting documents
6. Submit your application
