Briefing note summaries

A briefing note is a document used to explain ideas, summarize analysis or provide advice to decision makers.

Ministries publish a monthly summary of briefing notes prepared for the Premier, Ministers, Ministers of State, or Deputy Ministers. They include:

  • The individual's name and title,
  • Document tracking number (Cliff Number if used by the ministry),
  • The date the briefing note was prepared, and
  • The subject or title of the briefing note

Content may be withheld in accordance with the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act.

Briefing note summaries for a specific month are published 60 calendar days after the end of that month.
