There’s a wide range of health services and supports available for people with disabilities. Find specialists and funding to help you in communities throughout the province.


Specialized PharmaCare plans

PharmaCare has 12 different plans that can help you pay for:

  • Prescription medications
  • Medical devices and supplies
  • Pharmacy services

Autism funding

Find supports to help you and your family navigate an autism diagnosis. Specialists are available by phone and email to provide information and guidance.

Choice in supports for independent living (CSIL)

CSIL is a self-directed option for eligible home support clients. It allows you to manage all aspects of their home support, like:

  • Hiring and supervising staff
  • Funds and spending oversight

Deaf and Hard of Hearing Services (PDHHS)

PDHHS can offer support for:

  • Families with deaf and hard of hearing children
  • Youth and young adults planning for their future
  • Dorm students attending B.C. School for the Deaf
  • Connection to community partners and family networks
  • Family navigation and professional consultation
  • Indigenous Deaf Collaborations

Home and community care

These services offer a range of health care and support. They complement and supplement your efforts to care for yourself. Services are provided through the regional health authorities.

Mental health services for individuals under provincial supervision

Provincial health authorities have partnered with Corrections BC to provide custody centres with:

  • Health care
  • Mental health care
  • Addictions care

Services and supports for children and youth

Child and youth mental health (CYMH)

You and your family can access free mental health services through CYMH teams. We offer a range of options, including virtual and in-person support for:

  • Children
  • Youth
  • Families in need

Children and youth with support needs (CYSN)

A variety of services are available for children and their families. Connect with programs and service providers who can help on your support journey.

At Home Program medical benefits

The program supports children and youth with severe disabilities and complex health care needs. It provides a range of medical equipment and services for eligible children.

Early childhood intervention programs

Connect with contracted services providers who provide early childhood intervention services. They support children who show signs of, or who are at risk of having, a developmental delay or disability.

Key worker and fetal alcohol spectrum disorders (FASD)-related supports and services

Children with FASD do best when their individual strengths are recognized. Connect with a key worker to help support your family.

Early childhood health screening and therapy programs

Early childhood screening strategies are part of a strategy to address concerns with:

  • Dental
  • Hearing
  • Vision

Assessing and supporting your child's development

Help is available if you think your child should be:
