A PEN is a nine-digit number that identifies you in B.C.’s education system. This is not the same as your student number. Most students have a PEN and this order won't be processed if a PEN was assigned to you already.

Please continue if you do not have a PEN, such as if

• You did not attend a B.C. K to 12 school after 1993, or
• You never wrote a B.C. provincial exam (introduced in 1986)­­

If you last attended school between 1974 and 1985 your school district office will have your records. Please contact your school of record or district office.

If you do not have a PEN, you can order a high school transcript or certificate.

Transcripts/Certificate requests placed for students who have a PEN will be cancelled.

For former students, ordering transcripts and certificates are $10 each. Once your request is received, you will be sent a confirmation e-mail.
