The Statistics Act allows government to collect, use, and share statistical information about B.C.

This applies to information about:

  • Business, industry and finance
  • Society and the economy
  • General activities and conditions in B.C.
  • People in B.C

Protect the privacy of individuals and businesses

Coordinate the exchange of information with other governments (including Statistics Canada), organizations, or businesses, for statistical purposes

Data collection and research

BC Stats is the provincial government's statistical office. It provides statistics, economic research, information and analysis.
