Go Electric Public Charger Program

The CleanBC Go Electric Public Charger Program is intended to increase the number of public Direct Current Fast Charger (DCFC) stations throughout B.C. to support the growing number of zero-emission vehicles (ZEVs) on the road.

The Program aims to fill current gaps in the public DCFC network in B.C. such as Indigenous communities, rural and northern areas, and city centers experiencing long queues for DCFCs due to high ZEV uptake.

Applicants can receive up to 50% of the cost of equipment and installation to a maximum of $80,000 per fast charging station. Additional funding is also available for co-located Level 2 chargers.

The Go Electric Public Charger Program is administered by the Fraser Basin Council Society. 

Two alternative options to support fast charging installation costs for applicants are the Natural Resources Canada (NRCan) Zero Emission Vehicle Infrastructure Program (ZEVIP) and the NRCan Electric Vehicle and Alternative Fuel Infrastructure Deployment Initiative (EVAFIDI). EVAFIDI offers 50% federal funding to a maximum of $50,000 and ZEVIP offers 50% federal funding to a maximum of $75,000 per DCFC with an additional 25% to a maximum of $25,000 per DCFC for B.C. applicants through the Ministry of Energy, Mines and Low Carbon Innovation (EMLI).

The ZEVIP and EVAFIDI Programs are not stackable with the Go Electric Public Charger Program or other CleanBC programs. Any station that receives EMLI funding through the ZEVIP or EVAFIDI will not be eligible for funding through the CleanBC Go Electric Public Charger Program.
