The Family Law Act Regulation supports the Family Law Act.

This resource provides the meaning and intention of each section of the Family Law Act Regulations as implemented in 2013 (or 2014 for Part 2).

Family Law Act Pension Regulation

The Division of Pension Regulation is made under the Family Law Act.

The regulation sets out the requirements for dividing a pension under Part 6 of the Act, including:

  • Forms a spouse must use
  • Pension plan administrator duties in providing information to the member and spouse
  • Formulas used to calculate a spouse’s share of the member’s pension

These resources are provided to help the legal community and public transition from the Family Relations Act to the Family Law Act. They do not include amendments that have been made to the act. They are not intended as legal advice and should not be relied upon for those purposes.
