What is a Record Check Review?
A Record Check Review is a process available to anyone who has been denied or has acquired a matter requiring the return of their RCC, because their police/driving record check includes, or appears to include, a prescribed matter(s).
The Registrar of Passenger Transportation will review your application to decide whether the issue on your police or driving record is:
	- A prescribed matter, and

	- Related to your ability to safely work as a passenger directed vehicle (PDV) driver.

Passenger Transportation Act Section 42.21
Who can apply?
You can apply for a Record Check Review if:
	- An employer refused to give you an RCC because your record may include a prescribed matter.

	- You are a PDV driver and you have acquired a new prescribed matter on your record.

		- In this case, you must tell your employer and return your RCC before applying.

How to apply
Send your application by email to: Review.CVSE@gov.bc.ca
Include the following documents:
	- Completed application form (PTR 5051) — submit within 30 days of being denied or notifying your employer.

	- Copy of the employer’s denial letter (dated within the last 30 days), or copy of your notice to your employer about the new prescribed matter (dated within the last 30 days).

	- Your current Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening (PIC-VS).

	- Your current ICBC commercial driver’s abstract (“N print”).

		- If you have not been licensed in B.C. for the past 3 years, include a driving record from your previous jurisdiction.

You can also include documents that show why the prescribed matter is not related to your ability to drive safely, such as:
	- Reference letters

	- Overturned driving prohibitions or suspensions

	- Court documents showing no finding of guilt

	- Proof of training or self-help efforts

What happens next?
