In B.C., we have emergency services to handle disasters like wildfires, floods, and pandemics. When these emergencies take place, the Province provides the necessary resources, enforces safety measures, and offers essential services to reduce the impact of the emergency, and to support the recovery process.

Below are some guides on how you can prepare yourself for an emergency:

  • Make your emergency plan

Visit Prepared BC’s "Make Your Plan" page and create your emergency plan to protect loved ones, homes, and communities during emergencies.

  • Prepare an emergency kit

Get tips and guidance on how to build an emergency kit and grab-and-go bag. An emergency kit will keep you safe at home during an emergency, and a grab-and-go bag is something you can take with you if you have to leave home quickly.

  • Basic guides, guides for specific hazards and guides for certain situations

Find basic guides, guides for specific hazards (earthquake, tsunami, extreme heat, wildfire), and guides for certain situations, including resources for people with disabilities, to improve your preparedness.
