This eTaxBC quick guide for Provincially Administered Tax (PAT) and Property Tax Requisition (PTR) contains quick step-by-step instructions on how to:

Claiming your home owner grant (PAT only)

To claim your Home Owner Grant:

  1. Logon to your eTaxBC account
  2. Select the appropriate account
  3. Select the period you want to claim your home owner grants (HOGs)
  4. Under I Want To, select File or amend a return
  5. Select Next
  6. Enter the details of all home owner grants (HOGs) approved during the month by either of the following methods:
    • Select Import to import the text file created by your municipality's software
    • Select HOG Claim Details and enter the details manually

All HOGs, both current year and retroactive, including HOG adjustments and offsets, can be entered in the HOG Claim Details chart.

You can add, delete or change the folio details in the HOG Claim Details screen.

Submitting your utility transfer debt

To submit your utility transfer debt:

  1. Log on to your eTaxBC account
  2. Select the appropriate account
  3. Under I Want To, select Transfer fees and charges to taxes
  4. Complete the form
  5. Select Submit

Transfers will be allowed from January 1 to January 15 each year.
