Provincial level emergency management includes:
- Guiding legislation and policies
- Testing and exercising provincial plans
- Indigenous and other partnerships
Emergency management legislation is currently being updated in B.C.
Policies and procedures support emergency management programs and activities.
Provincial emergency coordination centres may be activated during an emergency.
Provincial-level exercises let the government and partners test how they would respond in an actual disaster.
Plans make sure B.C. is prepared in case of an emergency or disaster.
The Province works with Indigenous communities and other organizations during major emergencies.
