The Parents Registry in B.C. lets parents/guardians of a child or youth who may be placed for adoption register to receive notice of adoption details. If appropriate, they may also be involved in adoption planning. This registry helps ensure birth parents are informed and supported during the adoption process.

  • Parents or guardians of a child who may be placed for adoption
  • Parents/guardians from outside B.C. if the adoption is happening in B.C.

How to register

  • Registration can happen before the child's birth and up to 150 days after placement
  • There is no fee to register
  • Use the Parents Registry Application Form (PDF -- need link) from the B.C. government website

If your contact details change, it's important to update the registry so you can continue to receive notices and stay involved.
