First Nations Policing Conferences

First Nation communities with an enhanced policing agreement are invited to participate in conferences that:

  • Provide training to strengthen governance and delivery capacity
  • Share information about lessons learned
  • Address relevant policy and program issues
  • Encourage and support collaborative relationships between all parties

These conferences have produced the following reports:

  • January 2017 – Sharing–Collaboration–Community Safety – First Nations Policing Program Workshop
  • March 2011 – Strengthening from Within – British Columbia Community Consultative Groups Workshop / Community Consultative Group Toolkit - Updated March 2017
  • November 2008 – Continuing the Journey – Together – 4th Joint Conference on First Nations CTA Policing in B.C.
  • February 2007 – Together – Walking One Path – 3rd Joint Conference on First Nations CTA Policing in B.C. [A1] 
  • October 2005 – Eagles – Watchmen – Peacekeepers II: Working Together to Protect the Community
