If your family member or friend is a youth, they are supported differently. See Youth Justice for more information.

What to bring to the correctional centre

Before bringing anything to the institution, please check with the correctional centre.

Some common examples of items you cannot bring into a correctional centre include cell phones, cigarettes, food and money. You cannot carry any of these items – and many others – when you enter the correctional facility. If you have any doubts, check with the correctional centre before you visit or when you arrive.

For more information, contact a provincial correctional centre or Corrections Services Canada.
