BC Prosecution Service approves Motor Vehicle Act charge against Vancouver Island RCMP officer
Victoria – The BC Prosecution Service (BCPS) announced today that a charge under the Motor
Vehicle Act has been approved against a member of the RCMP currently serving with the North
Cowichan/Duncan detachment, Staff Sergeant Steven Perret, following an incident that occurred
in Ladysmith on June 1, 2024. Staff Sergeant Perret was a member of the Vancouver Island District
RCMP at the time of the alleged offence.

Victoria – The BC Prosecution Service (BCPS) announced today that on December 9, 2024, Chris Johnson KC was appointed as a Special Prosecutor following an investigation by the Westshore RCMP into allegations of an offence on September 9, 2024, in Langford. One of the accused was recently determined to be related to a provincial court judge.
