How tribunals work

Tribunals have specific legislation, rules, and procedures to follow. They can also create their own processes and make their own rules to help with timely resolution. Some tribunals will attempt to resolve an issue through mediation before it reaches a hearing.

The general process that most tribunals follow is:

  1. Make a claim
  2. Provide the basis for your claim
  3. Gather and submit evidence
  4. Attend your hearing
  5. Receive your decision
