As the BCTS Review enters its final weeks, the engagement phase is beginning to wrap up. The Task Force is now focused on shaping recommendations informed by extensive input from staff, partners, and other interest holders across the province.
Work is shifting toward refining policy ideas that will form the basis of final recommendations. These are being organized around several key themes including:
The final recommendations from the task force will be submitted by mid-July, at which point the review phase will conclude and implementation planning will begin. Many of the recommendations will be phased in over time, with timelines currently in development.
It’s important to note that the BCTS Review is proceeding independently from other forestry review processes. However, its outcomes may help inform future work across the sector. We appreciate the continued interest and collaboration from all those involved. The insights shared through this review have been critical in helping shape a stronger, more responsive future for BC Timber Sales.

Meanwhile, our policy teams are making steady progress as they work through key areas of the review.
