Managing Established Nut Bearing Trees

Once the trees begin to produce hazelnuts, orchard management shifts to a focus on achieving maximum productivity of quality nuts; keeping vegetative growth in balance; and maintaining a healthy root system. This requires the producer to engage in the following are important operational activities:

Fertilising (nutrient management)
Watering (irrigation management)
Pruning (canopy management)
Weed and insect control (pest management)
Orchard floor management
Harvest
