The B.C. Immunizing Agents and Vaccine Catalogue Value Set is aligned to the National Vaccine Catalogue (NVC) dataset which aggregates data from Health Canada, the Public Health Agency of Canada, and Canada Health Infoway. The B.C. catalogue provides a comprehensive list of immunizing agents and vaccine products available provincially, and internationally for use in digital health information systems. This includes information about detailed immunologic content representation, relationship between a vaccine or immunizing product parent concept and the disease(s) that the product is intended to prevent, mitigate, or provide passive protection against, relationships between Manufacturer Immunizing Product (MIP) and the organization that holds market authorization for that product, and Immunizing Agents targeting diseases beyond the National Vaccine Catalogue (NVC) by including globally available vaccines used for historical immunization records.
