Rohini Arora was elected MLA for Burnaby East in 2024. In December 2024, Rohini was appointed Parliamentary Secretary for Child Care.

Before being elected to the Legislative Assembly, Rohini, a trade unionist and a member of United Steelworkers Local 2009, served on the National Anti-Racism Committee for two terms as well as on both district and local human rights committees.

Rohini also worked at the B.C. Federation of Labour as the Director of Organizing and Campaigns.

During her time at the Federation of Labour, Rohini became a strong advocate for high-quality, affordable child care. Her experiences in this work will inform her parliamentary secretary role. Rohini considers child care a working people's issue that elevates all families, especially single parents and working women.
