Dana Lajeunesse

Dana Lajeunesse was first elected as the MLA for Juan de Fuca-Malahat in 2024.

Dana was appointed the Parliamentary Secretary for Accessibility in November 2024.

Before being elected to the legislature, Dana was a dedicated District of Sooke councillor for five years. Dana grew up in Jordan River and is a third-generation resident of the South Island. He worked in the forest industry for eight years before a life-altering accident at 26.  After this, he worked to re-skill in mechanical engineering technology, working and teaching in this field for 24 years.

During his time in local government, Dana served on the CRD Water Commission, the Vancouver Island Regional Library Board, the CRD Arts Commission, South Island Prosperity Partnership, the Sooke Region Historical Society, Sooke and Electoral Area Parks and Recreation Commission (SEAPARC) and the Community Economic Development Committee

Dana lives in Sooke with his wife Kim and dog Lando.
