To sell body armour in British Columbia, the appropriate licence is required unless you are exempt under Body Armour Control Act or the Body Armour Control Regulation. A security business licence and a security worker licence are needed to sell body armour as part of a security business.
Businesses selling body armour that are not security businesses (for example, in a hunting gear store) do not need a security business licence, but the people selling body armour need security worker licences.
If you or your business sells body armour, you must only sell it to a buyer holding a valid body armour permit, or who is exempt from needing one. Wholesale body armour sales do not require permits or licensing, if they are selling to a licensed security business, or to another wholesaler.
