Compliance and Enforcement

Last updated on April 28, 2026

The Compliance and Enforcement Policies set out the Security Programs Division’s (SPD) enforcement framework. This framework is intended to support SPD in its role to protect public safety and security in B.C. by ensuring that the people and businesses that it regulates comply with governing statutes, regulations, and policies.

Contraventions of the Body Armour Control Act and Regulation can result in sanctions, including:

  • Violation Tickets,
  • Administrative Penalties,
  • Suspension, and
  • Cancellation.

The Compliance and Enforcement Policies detail SPD’s progressive enforcement policy on investigating contraventions and imposing sanctions.
