Project Scope: The project includes seismically replacing the at-risk school with a modern, 21^st century school building on the current property’s west side and will have the capacity to accommodate 1,200 grade 8 to 12 students. Construction of the new Handsworth Secondary will allow students to stay in the current building while the work is completed. Upon completion, the current building will be demolished and replaced with a new grass field. The replacement school will be LEED Gold level or equivalent.
