About B.C.'s Map Hub

B.C.’s Map Hub is the established B.C. Government’s presence in ArcGIS Online, a scalable and secure cloud-based Software as a Service (SaaS) hosted by Esri. Through B.C.’s Map Hub, government employees and contractors can browse user-made maps or create their own.

In B.C.’s Map Hub, you can:

  • Search for content
  • Browse maps
  • Ask questions
  • Author content (government professionals)
  • Create maps
  • Share your data
  • Collaborate with others

The Province encourages broad data sharing with the public and across government, as open data whenever possible. Maps published publicly through B.C.’s Map Hub are available for government workers and the public to search and view. Account holders , are also able to analyze data, find tools for research, and develop applications.

Key objectives of the B.C.'s Map Hub Service are to:

  • Offer a controlled service through one subscription and website for the Province's main government departments
  • Allow non-core government agencies in ELA to use the service, as required by the government Internet Strategy
  • Provide access to publicly published B.C. government data

Data Systems and Services provides support to account holders.

To get an account on B.C.'s Map Hub, submit a request using the Data Systems and Services request system. Attach an email of approval signed by your Director (or their designate).
