The Public Service Employment Program (PSEP) is a provincial program that provides opportunities for people with disabilities to develop and increase work skills through on-the-job training in provincial government. These employment opportunities are for clients of the Ministry of Employment and Income Assistance's Employment Program for Persons with Disabilities (EPPD).
PSEP is provided for under Article 34.1 of the BCGEU Main Agreement, which can be found on the Collective agreements page. Work provided to program clients are jobs not normally carried out by bargaining unit employees, or jobs where they are not expected to carry out the principal duties of that job. Depending on the participant's educational level and the type of work, the salary placement is at one of three levels of the classification called Public Service Training Program.
