The Public Service Internship Program provides recent graduates from post-secondary universities and colleges with direct work experience and an orientation to government. This encourages them to consider a career in the public service.
Recent graduates from post-secondary institutions will be recruited for a specific length of time (48 weeks of auxiliary employment). As the program is intended to integrate workers with new ideas and competencies into the workforce, 'recent graduates' are described as having completed their relevant program training in the last year.
