Forest technicians perform routine or straightforward work that supports forest resource management, including fire-suppression crew person, fire detection/lookout person, seed orchard technician, research crew person, junior assistant on cruising or forest survey parties, stand treatment crew person, plot measurement crew person.
Work at this level is specifically assigned and is subject to checking. Positions at the entry level work under close supervision.
Note: Per the 18th Main Public Service Agreement, the Employer and the BCGEU have jointly agreed that, effective April 1, 2020, the point band range for Grid 7 will be amalgamated with the point band range for Grid 9. As a result of this decision, Grid 7 will no longer be used and all employees who are currently at the Grid 7 level will be moved over to their same classification at the Grid 9 level.
