Commercial transport inspector (training placement)

This position is a training placement to become a BC Public Service commercial transport inspector who will monitor roadways, operate vehicle inspection stations (permanent or stationary, portable, mobile) and conduct mechanical and safety checks on commercial vehicles.

They enforce provisions of a number of acts and regulations and will issue warnings and prosecution notices and may delay or detain drivers.

Refer to grid level 9 for pay rates in effect from April 6, 2025 to March 7, 2026. Effective the first pay period after March 8, 2026, positions classified as range 9 will be paid at grid range 10. Review grid level 10 pay rates for this position.
