B.C. Coastal Ferries - Community Engagement 2013
The B.C. Coastal Ferries Consultation and Engagement, held from November 18 to December 20, 2013, was designed to advise the public and stakeholders about the challenges facing the BC Coastal Ferry system in the immediate and long term. We invited feedback on measures to remedy the $18.9 million shortfall in the ferry system through to 2016, and reduce pressure for future fare increases.
This process included:
- 7,864 participant interactions in total
- 3,707 participants attended 23 consultation events
- 2,293 participants submitted feedback forms (2,110 online and 183 hard copy)
- 1,335 written submissions
- 529 people were randomly selected to participate in an online public opinion poll
