Recognized S-100 Basic Fire Suppression and Safety Instructors

The table below lists the names and locations of recognized BC Wildfire Service instructors who may offer Basic Fire Suppression and Safety (S-100) training. This training may also be available through a local post-secondary institution.

The BC Wildfire Service recognizes Basic Fire Suppression and Safety (S-100) training only when delivered in the approved format by a BC Wildfire Service-endorsed instructor.

S-100 training is delivered over two full days: one day in the classroom (theory) and one day in the field (practical exercise).

The BC Wildfire Service does not hire individual emergency firefighters for logistical and operational reasons. Instead, anyone with a valid S-100 Basic Fire Suppression and Safety certification should contact local fire suppression contract crew companies for possible employment opportunities.
