Last updated on June 26, 2026

About the program

The Criminal Records Review Program (CRRP) completes vulnerable sector checks for British Columbia organizations that fall under the jurisdiction of the Criminal Records Review Act (CRRA) and who are registered with the CRRP. These checks protect children and vulnerable adults.

The CRRP does not process:

  • Criminal record checks for legal change of name applications
  • Criminal record checks for immigration/visa purposes
  • Criminal record checks for federal purposes
  • Police Information Checks (PIC or PIC-VS)

Please contact your local police or RCMP detachment if you require one of these types of criminal record checks.

Registrar

CRRP laws and policies mention a Registrar. The Registrar is in charge of CRRP.
