Recovery from the 2017 and 2018 Cariboo Region wildfires

Wildfire recovery efforts in the Cariboo Region are ongoing and include rangeland recovery, replanting trees and reseeding grass, rehabilitation projects related to wildfire suppression activities (e.g. rehabilitation of fire guards), salvaging of burned timber and increased engagement with First Nations in the region.

Restoring range infrastructure

Repairing cattle guards and other range infrastructure that’s been damaged during wildfire suppression activities is part of the wildfire recovery work.
