David Zhang

David is responsible for supporting the development, operation, and enhancement of geoscience mapping products and digital tools.

British Columbia Institute of Technology (GIS Advanced Diploma, 2019)

Expertise

David joined the BCGS in 2025. At the Survey, David provides GIS expertise to support geoscience staff and generate publication-quality maps and figures. He also contributes to the development of mobile mapping solutions for integrating GIS analysis with other geospatial and geoscience-based information, database management, LiDAR processing and GIS training.

He is also experienced in developing Python-based tools for data ETL, workflow automation, and custom geospatial analysis.
