Bram van Straaten, Ph.D., P.Geo.
Senior Minerals Geologist – Copper Metallogeny
Bram is a regional geological mapper and mineral deposit geologist with an emphasis on the porphyry-prospective Stikine terrane of northwestern British Columbia.
Education
Utrecht (M.Sc., 2003)
University of British Columbia (Ph.D., 2010)
Expertise
Bram joined the British Columbia Geological Survey in 2015. Previously he worked as a Senior Advisor to Hunter Dickinson Inc., developing and executing exploration programs on copper and gold targets throughout BC. He has mapped and explored the Dease Lake and Stewart areas of northwestern British Columbia continuously since 2011, when he held a temporary position with the BCGS.
At the BCGS he is responsible for field mapping and mineral deposit studies with a particular focus on copper mineralization. Bram's primary areas of interest are porphyry systems and the evolution of the Canadian Cordillera.
