Evan is an economic geology specialist focusing on mineral systems and leading the BCGS’s ore deposit research and mineral potential modeling.

Education

CODES ARC Centre of Excellence in Ore Deposits, University of Tasmania (PhD, 2016)

Expertise

Evan joined the BCGS in 2020. Over the previous 4.5 years he held an Australian Research Council Fellowship in Ore Deposit Footprints at CODES, where he specialized in porphyry-epithermal-geothermal systems, hydrothermal geochemistry, ore deposit vectoring and fertility, and igneous petrogenesis. Evan holds an Adjunct position at CODES, where he will continue to supervise postgraduate students as well as collaborate on a variety of international research projects.

At the BCGS, Evan is responsible for economic geology and mineral systems research, as well as technology strategies, method development, and enhancement of geoscience databases and applications relevant to mineral prospectivity mapping, in order to deliver mineral potential assessments of British Columbia.
